In 1992, Amanda Bossard began her research in marine biology at Anchorage in Alaska at the University of Alaska Pacific. Bossard began her profession as a commercial seafood worker in the year 1999. Bossard began working at the vessel F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner and was later converted into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan, who had been working in commercial fishing since. Bossard, who is married to Aritan, has joined their alliance to gain access to their respective industries. Both of them are in favour of conserving resources as well as maximising profits.
